Fully Charged: Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, Shantae and the Seven Sirens, Mario Kart World

Start of a new series! Fully Charged is a series in which I go over games I have recently played. Each instalment will release when I have played 2-4 games, new or old. With less time for this blog now, I won't be doing many, if any, reviews. This series will instead cover the games I have played critically, in a mini-review format. Mario Kart World https://store.nintendo.co.uk This is the game everyone has been playing recently if they got a Switch 2. I want to start off by saying I quite like this game, it feels quite different from 8 in a good way. One of the biggest things I like about the games feel, is the control. Vehicles in this game do not feel as stiff. How could I not mention the wall driving and rail grinding too, those add a lot more depth to tracks and are very fun to do. The new knockout tour is a great addition to the series, I find myself playing these just as much as grand prix's. Free roam is quite fun, there are some cool challenges to do within it, but for...

[Thoughts] Nintendo Direct 27/03/25

A surprise direct that met expectations (though they were quite low) source:  www.youtube.com/@NintendoUK If you haven't already, you can view the direct here . With the situation as it stands, I did not expect any new big game announcements, and I really don't think the Switch needs them. It is time for it to be passing on the torch now. That said, we did get to see both big games coming to Switch this year as well as a surprise for fans of two niche series, which made for a fairly decent direct overall despite the lack of big new titles. Source:  www.youtube.com/@NintendoUK Metroid continues to impress and looks very good. On top of that, the music sounds phenomenal. I have not tried a Metroid Prime game but this one really makes me want to for sure. The new suit design for Samus looks awesome. The new abilities, in particular, the one that lets you steer your projectile, could be very interesting for puzzles and exploration. Still no actual date for its release, though. Sou...

[Thoughts] This Blog Is Going To Take A Backseat From Now

Doing other big things, but not leaving! Source: zeldauniverse.net I have entered a new chapter in my life starting a new apprenticeship role. This role is not tied to this blog or even gaming in any way, however, it is something I have chanced upon and have gone through with it. With how much time this will be demanding from me this blog will not be able to reach its usual 6-7 blogs per month, though that's probably been evident recently, and will instead be about 1-2 blogs per month. If/when things calm down, or something changes then I will provide an update to this blog, until then please look out for any of the future sporadic blogs I post. Thanks. That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[News] Splatfest Now On! - Regular Re-run (Splatoon 3)

Pick a team and splat it out! Source: x.com/NintendoUK Another splatfest is upon us. This Splatfest, about your favourite type of chocolate, is a full rerun. Just like last time, the three choices for this Splatfest are dark, milk and white. As usual, this event runs for two full days (08/02 @ 00:00 - 10/02 @ 00:00), with the tri colour battles starting on the second day.  Tri Colour stage for this splatfest From looking at polls on Twitter and YouTube, it seems to favour milk and white like last time. White chocolate did win overall last time and I think we'll see the same happen again to be honest. That said, it'll be a fun time no matter what. I have joined team milk myself since I joined my favourite dark last time and I also like milk a lot. Make sure to use your conch shells before the splatfest ends! Happy splatting! That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[News] Three More Games Have Been Added To Nintendo Switch Online!

More games are now available for Nintendo Switch Online members source:  twitter.com/NintendoAmerica Over on X (Twitter), Nintendo has announced that  three more games are coming to Nintendo Switch Online. This includes 3 SNES games. These games are Sutte Hakkun, Fatal Fury 2 and Super Ninja Boy.  SNES games do not require the expansion tier so you be able to play these with just a basic subscription. all these games are available to play right now. For more information on each game click these links: Sutte Hakkun Fatal Fury 2 Super Ninja Boy Another SNES game update is always nice to see. Sutte Hakkun looks very intriguing for how seemingly obscure it is. I like puzzle games so I might give this one a try. I have played one other Fatal Fury game before which was one for the GBA. I can't remember its name, but it was quite fun, so I'll give this one a try too. I'm not much of a beat em up fan so I won't be trying Super Ninja Boy, though if you like those games I'm...

[News] Nintendo Switch 2 Revealed!

Finally, we are seeing the Switch 2 source:  www.nintendo.com On YouTube, the official Nintendo channels have just uploaded a  new two-minute video  about the Nintendo Switch 2. You can watch it  here  for yourself. In this, we get a look at the new design for the Switch and some information regarding it. source:  www.nintendo.com As for what we now know, the Switch's screen and joycons are bigger in size, the joycons now clip in and original Switch games can be played on the Switch 2 console. This video also showed a sneak peek of what we can assume is Mario Kart 9, as well as giving us a direct date for the Switch 2. This direct for the Switch 2 will air on April 2nd, 2025. The leaks were all pointing to this but there was still a part of me that was skeptical, however when basically all sources were pointing to this it came as no surprise. It's cool to see what the next console from Nintendo is as it's been so long and a little overdue. Mario Kart...

[News] Splatfest now on! - Frosty Fest (Splatoon 3)

Pick a team and splat it out! Source: twitter.com/NintendoEurope Another splatfest is upon us. This special Christmas themed Splatfest, about what would make you happiest, was announced on December 20th. The three choices for this Splatfest are money, experiences and presents. As usual, this event runs for two full days (11th @ 12am - 12th @ 11:59pm), with the tri colour battles starting on the second day. Just like other special fest Nintendo have made a lot of cool changes for this fest, to really make it feel like a festive one. From the idols wearing festive outfits to the additional festive music. The tri-colour stage this time is both Eeltail Alley and Sturgeon Shipyard. These are both stages we have had before. Eeltail is a lot better now and sturgeon is a fine tri colour stage too, so these will be fun to play on when we can do so. From looking at polls on Twitter and YouTube, it seems very even in voting. That said, it'll be interesting to see how the voting turns o...
