You can watch it  here  for yourself. In this, we get a look at the new design for the Switch and some information regarding it. source:  www.nintendo.com As for what we now know, the Switch's screen and joycons are bigger in size, the joycons now clip in and original Switch games can be played on the Switch 2 console. This video also showed a sneak peek of what we can assume is Mario Kart 9, as well as giving us a direct date for the Switch 2. This direct for the Switch 2 will air on April 2nd, 2025. The leaks were all pointing to this but there was still a part of me that was skeptical, however when basically all sources were pointing to this it came as no surprise. It's cool to see what the next console from Nintendo is as it's been so long and a little overdue. Mario Kart...

[News] Splatfest now on! - Frosty Fest (Splatoon 3)

Pick a team and splat it out! Source: twitter.com/NintendoEurope Another splatfest is upon us. This special Christmas themed Splatfest, about what would make you happiest, was announced on December 20th. The three choices for this Splatfest are money, experiences and presents. As usual, this event runs for two full days (11th @ 12am - 12th @ 11:59pm), with the tri colour battles starting on the second day. Just like other special fest Nintendo have made a lot of cool changes for this fest, to really make it feel like a festive one. From the idols wearing festive outfits to the additional festive music. The tri-colour stage this time is both Eeltail Alley and Sturgeon Shipyard. These are both stages we have had before. Eeltail is a lot better now and sturgeon is a fine tri colour stage too, so these will be fun to play on when we can do so. From looking at polls on Twitter and YouTube, it seems very even in voting. That said, it'll be interesting to see how the voting turns o...

[News] New Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Trailer Now Live

A glimpse at some of the new content! source:  www.youtube.com/@NintendoAmerica On YouTube, the official Nintendo channels have just uploaded a  new three-minute trailer  for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. You can watch it  here  for yourself. As a reminder, the game will be coming out on March 20th, 2025 and pre-orders are now open. I was not expecting them to include new content in this trailer, as at first it just seemed like a standard one with shots we have seen before. We don't see much as it's just 20 seconds but it is enough to intrigue me. It seems like there is a whole new area to explore and given how strong the environments/world of Xenoblade X were I am quite excited for it. Of course, I should also mention the smaller changes we can see such as the overhauled UI which looks cleaner than before, and the additional UI elements present to help you understand the combat more. I am going to get this day one for sure, I can't wait to ...

[Thoughts] Games I Am Looking Forward To In 2025

2025 is looking decent for me so far In this blog, I will go through the games I am most looking forward to next year. The excitement level for each game varies and so does how much I know about them. That said, I am intrigued to learn more about each one on this list and see how my opinion changes if it does so. Also, only confirmed 2025 games will be here, so do take that to note. With that said, let's start. Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga Source: store.steampowered.com This game has been out for Japanese audiences for some time now, however, it is now getting officially translated with added voice acting. I am not as much of a fan of competitive games as I used to be, however, since this one includes Ys it has caught my interest. That said, I'm still not sure how much I will play online but there also seems to be a story mode to play in this game which will be cool. I liked Ys Seven and it's cast quite a bit so it'll be nice to see them again. Who knows, ...

[Thoughts] Top 5 Games I Played In 2024

These games made my year better! In this blog, I will be going through the 5 games that were my favorites of the year. This isn't just exclusive to games that came out this year, but also inclusive of ones that I played for the first time this year, I find it to be more interesting that way. At the end will also be a mention of my favourite DLC of the year too. That said, let's begin! 5) Honkai: Star Rail I never really played Gacha games before this year other than Fire Emblem Heroes as I don't really like how they are done. However, the setting and designs of the characters quickly pulled me into this game after giving it a try due to a recommendation from a friend. Before I knew it I had sunk many hours into it. This did cause me to get burned out and actually made me stop playing for a few months. However, when I came back I have since stayed for good and plan on staying with it until I no longer want to play it.  The gameplay and the visuals are my favorite things abou...

Ys is getting the Persona treatment Image source:  x.com/Ys_Central Over on X (Twitter), Nihon Falcom have just announced that an upgraded version for Ys X: Nordics is coming next year. So far we only know of a JP release which is next year, hopefully, it comes out for other regions then as well. This upgrade features a new story, new areas and new elements to the gameplay. Here is a list of specific things we know so far: - Takes place on Aland Island  - Obtainable new mana action - There will be new bosses - Can take part in mana ride races - You can challenge an arena where fierce enemies await Source: www.falcom.co.jp/ysx/proud/ I really did not expect this to happen at all. I am quite excited for this and the screenshots look really good. One of the main issues of the original was the visuals so this will make the game even better. I can't wait to dive back into this adventure with Adol and explore this new Island. However, this has a chance to be a bit disappointing...
