During the Super Mario Bros. Wonder direct, Nintendo announced a new Switch OLED edition source:  www.youtube.com/@NintendoUK At the end of the direct, Nintendo gave us a look at this new Nintendo Switch OLED edition. This edition is called the "Mario Red Edition". The direct also let us know that the launch date for this edition is October 6th 2023. The current price for this console is unknown, though previous special edition Switch OLED's were priced at £320, so we can assume this one will be too. source:  www.youtube.com/@NintendoUK This switch does look bland from the front but the nice addition of coins in the back compartment of the switch is cool, though with the back compartment closed, all you can see is a little Mario logo on the bottom left. I am very surprised the Joycon have nothing on them too, it's quite a shame honestly. Overall, it's not a very good edition in my opinion, but if you would like a red OLED Switch then this is a good choice I suppos

Bare in mind that while the update is Thursday August 31st, the Drizzle Season content, such as the new weapons and stages, will not be available until Friday September 1st. Super Mario Bros Wonder is getting a dedicated Nintendo Direct before release source:  twitter.com/NintendoUK Over on Twitter, Nintendo has just announced a Nintendo Direct for Super Mario Bros Wonder to all their social medias. This Direct will take place on August 31st over on the official Nintendo YouTube channels. The direct will go live @ 3pm (UK time) . Nintendo have stated that the direct will be roughly 15 minutes long . It will be interesting to see what they show for this event. At the moment we have seen quite a few things about this game but it would be nice to see decent amount more. The character roster and the scope of the game would be great to know. We may also find out if it has online co-op in this direct, hopefully it does in some form. If the normal September direct does happen we probably won't be seeing as much of this game and will instead, be seeing more other stuff which is always a good thing. Nier fans will be able to add another piece of merch to their collection source:  goodsmileshop.com On Twitter, GoodSmile have just revealed we will be getting a new 2B plushie. The specific release date is currently unknown but the site says it will be coming sometime in December , though this could be a place holder. Pre orders are currently open for this plush. You will be able to pre order this plush until the 14th of September so if you want one make sure to pre order as soon as you can.  The plush itself is 190mm in size , so it is a medium sized plush. Cotton and polyester are the materials it is made from. The price of this plush is 4,000 yen , which converts to about £21.70. However, there will probably be other fees if you are ordering from the UK, such as delivery. This plush looks great and I may get one myself. Nintendo has just revealed that we are getting three game trails at once source:  twitter.com/NintendoUK Over on Twitter, Nintendo has just posted to their socials that three games will be receiving game trails. We haven't ever had this many game trails at once to my knowledge, usually it's one at a time. Though we are getting three this time most likely due to this being part of the multiplayer festival celebration. All of these games can be played with others so it makes sense why these have been selected. Game trails, for those who don't know, are full versions of games that Nintendo online members can play for free for a set period of time. The game trails this time are for, Don't Starve Together, Golf With Your Friends and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 . These games can be enjoyed from Today (25th August) until the 31st of August . While there are many great fishing mini games, Dark chronicle's still stands tall The main reason the fishing in Dark Chronicle stands out to me is that it transcends being a simple mini game with little purpose. There are many reasons to fish in this game actually. On top of this, the fishing itself is really fun and there are plenty of cool fish you can get in the game. So, with that said, let's go into more detail regarding this games fishing as a whole.  The fishing itself, is very simple and easy to get a grasp of. You start by casting your line into the water, which can pretty much be any body of water in the game. Then when something bites, which is indicated with a exclamation point, you start to reel.  From here your objective is to draw in the fish and ensure that your reel amount doesn't hit the top of the bar. While it is slow, you can pretty much avoid the danger zone completely by periodically tapping the reel button. To reel in a fish faster, you can tap it i

A new trailer was shown for this final update at Gamescom Opening Night Live source:  www.youtube.com/@SonictheHedgehog During the Gamescom show, after a new trailer for Sonic Superstars, a new trailer for Sonic Frontiers was shown. This trailer was a tease for the final free update for Sonic Frontiers. The trailer shows what seems to be an upgraded version of one of the bosses in the game, specifically supreme. We can also see that Sonic seems to get a boost during super sonic with him gaining blue eyes and a different aura. What both of these things mean, who knows. Other than that though, the trailer didn't show anything else, with no gameplay in sight. Nintendo has just confirmed Charles Martinet will be stepping down from the role of Mario source:  www.youtube.com/@GreatBigStory Over on twitter, Nintendo has just made a statement regarding Charles Martinet. It states that Charles is moving into the role of Mario ambassador and steeping down from the role of Mario as well as the other characters he voiced for the series. Charles has been the voice of Mario since Super Mario 64, which covers roughly 27 years worth of games and media. We assume it is Charles in the upcoming Super Mario Bros Wonder, so after then is when we will start hearing the new voice of Mario. Hopefully, the new Mario will be just as good as Charles and I am sure they will be. If it is not Charles in Super Mario Bros Wonder, then they are off to a great start for sure. The statement also says a special video message will be published soon featuring both Shigeru Miyamoto and Charles. There is no date for this yet but we can assume it will be a nice little send off

The show will take place @8pm BST on Tuesday 22nd August, with a 30 minute pre show before hand. Last years show was an hour long, so we can assume that will be the case this time too. This season, that starts September 1st, is jam packed with content just like the  previous  ones. The video gives us a lot of the information we need to know about this upcoming update and it's contents. Nintendo has just revealed information regarding Deep Cut Amiibos  source:  twitter.com/NintendoAmerica Over on Twitter, Nintendo have just made a post to several of their accounts showcasing the new Deep Cut amiibos. Since it features all three of them, this one will be a triple pack just like the previous Splatoon amiibos. The price of them is currently unknown but it will most likely be the same as the previous triple pack, which went for £38.99.  As for in game function, there is actually quite a few things Nintendo have stated you can do with these amiibos. Firstly, you can take pictures with the members of Deep cut. This is just like what the previous Splatoon idol amiibos have allowed you to do. You can also get exclusive gear for each member, though the gear is currently unknown. There is now only one more wave to go and there are still quite a few things I would like to see source:  mariokart.fandom.com The previous wave, wave 5, launched just last month with two new cups and three characters. It was a fine wave but this final wave needs to be better so the DLC can end with a bang. There are several characters and tracks I would still like to see in this game. We know that we will get 8 tracks as usual and this time it will be two characters that will be added. So, with that said, let's get on to what I am hoping for. ~ Tracks ~ To start with, I will talk about some of the tracks I would like. The track I want the absolute most is Airship Fortress from Mario Kart DS. This track is so cool from the music to the visuals to the actual track layout, it was a full package. The track itself is very memorable, from it's bullet bill dodging at the start to the spiralling slope at the end. This track has a good chance of getting in with it having a tour version

   Pick your team and splat it out! Source: twitter.com/NintendoEurope Another splatfest is upon us. This Splatfest, about what you value most, was announced at the end of July on Twitter. The choices for this splatfest are, money, fame and love. As usual, this event runs for two full days (12th @ 1am - 14th @ 1am), with the tri colour battles starting on the second day.  Something to note about this splatfest is that it was actually in Splatoon 1 and 2, though without the fame option that is. Team love won both times before, so will it win again? We'll find out soon.  The tri-colour stage this time is eeltail alley, which had been datamined for some time now. The layout for this stage normally isn't the best but the tri-colour version looks to fix a few issues with the standard map. So, it seems like we will get another good splatfest map, just like barnacle and dime was last splatfest. Though, I do hope we see completely unique tri colour maps again soon. From looking at poll

I will share what I think could be coming to the launch line up of the new console Word has been going around a lot about this new Nintendo system recently. The most common idea seems to be that it will launch in mid-late 2024. I can use this supposed launch window, and previous launches, to help inform my decisions for the line up. To start off, I think it is almost guaranteed that the next Nintendo system will launch with a 3D Mario game, possibly odyssey 2, who knows. We know for sure it won't be launching with a new Zelda so this is another big title Nintendo can have to boost the initial sales. With that big game, I think we will see a few other smaller/third party games. One of them could be a new IP like 1-2 Switch was. This is most likely because they will have a new big feature they want to show off, having a custom made game for it. I do think we may get a remake or remaster alongside this new console too. It did include a lot of things in it, but it was quantity over quality for sure. With this being the longest presents yet I hoped for something more but I was left quite disappointed. The best of the original trilogy, easily source:  pressakey.com ~ Intro ~ God of War III is the final game in the original Greek trilogy. It is a hack and slash action game, made by Santa Monica. The remaster I played was released on July 17th 2015 for PS4, while the original released on March 19th 2010 for PS3. After playing the first two games I wanted to finish off the trilogy and the remastered version was a great way to do that. Having played the first and second game just before this one I was able to see how the series had evolved and allowed me to make more informed opinions. With that being the case, I am more than confident to give my opinions on this game now. ~ Positives ~ To start off with lets talk about the story of the game. The story picks up right after the second games ending, with a big battle between Zeus and the titans. After a series of events Kratos finds himself in the depths below, from here his final adventure in Greece begins. He finds out that in order to t

Pokémon socials have just revealed that a new showcase will be taking place soon source:  twitter.com/PokemonNewsUK Over on Twitter, we have just received the details about this upcoming presentation. This presentation will air @2:00pm BST on August 8th. Surprisingly, this is quite a big showcase, as it's stated to be around 35 minutes in length. This will be the longest presentation they have ever hosted to my knowledge. Previous ones have typically been 15 or 25 minutes in length.  There are things we expect to see, such as the Scarlet and Violet DLC, but due to the length I also expect to see quite a few surprises. There have been rumours of something to do with Gen 5 possibly being in the works. If that is a remake or a legends game, only time will tell. The rumours could always be false too. There may be a chance for a new spin off game as well. A new Pokémon Mystery Dungeon would be cool to see, but there are plenty of spin offs they could chose from. Make sure to tune in whe

Pokémon have just announced two new squishmallows that are coming soon source:  www.pokemoncenter.com Over on twitter, the official Pokémon socials have just posted a graphic showing two new Pokémon squishmallows. Previously, we had gotten Snorlax, Pikachu, Gengar and Togepi squishmallows. These two new squishmallows include Piplup and another Pikachu, though this pikachu is winking, as you can see above. Each squishmallow costs £26 and you can currently pre order them both on the Pokémon centre store  here .
