[Thoughts] What Will The Next Generation Nintendo Console Launch With?

I will share what I think could be coming to the launch line up of the new console

Word has been going around a lot about this new Nintendo system recently. The most common idea seems to be that it will launch in mid-late 2024. I can use this supposed launch window, and previous launches, to help inform my decisions for the line up.

To start off, I think it is almost guaranteed that the next Nintendo system will launch with a 3D Mario game, possibly odyssey 2, who knows. We know for sure it won't be launching with a new Zelda so this is another big title Nintendo can have to boost the initial sales. With that big game, I think we will see a few other smaller/third party games. One of them could be a new IP like 1-2 Switch was. This is most likely because they will have a new big feature they want to show off, having a custom made game for it. I do think we may get a remake or remaster alongside this new console too. The Fire emblem 4 remake that has been rumoured could fit this bill. The rumoured F-zero remake/remaster could also be another option.

Some people may think that Metroid Prime 4 will be a launch title but I really don't think it will. I do think Metroid Prime 4 will be on Nintendo's next system now. However, I don't think it will be too close to launch, as they will want to build a bit of an install base before dropping this title. Besides, I think the rumoured Metroid prime 2 remaster will probably come out before Prime 4 does anyway.

So, with that said, I think the next console will launch with about 4 games. One big title, two smaller titles and a remake/remaster. I would be completely fine with this line up of games especially if we do see one of those remake/remasters alongside it.

That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[News] New "Hype trailer" for Summer Game Fest goes live

Summer Game Fest gets new video source : twitter.com/summergamefest Summer Game Fest hosted by Geoff Keighley will be live this Thursday, June 8th as announced a few days ago. The event will be streamed everywhere @  3pm ET / Noon PT / 9pm CEST.  Currently, other than a showing for the recently revealed Mortal Kombat remake, there are no details as to what to expect from the show. However, in a follow up tweet to the video post, Geoff states we will find out soon. In that same reply he also says what you see in the video is not indicative of what we will or won't see. So it serves as just a little mind refresher for some of the new games this year. Link to the video can be found here  SGF video I will be watching this event, but I will have my expectations set very low. Previous summer game fests have not been that interesting so I expect this one to follow suit. Though, with E3 not being a thing anymore offici...

[News] Another game comes to Nintendo Switch Online!

Another game is now available for Nintendo Switch Online members   source:  twitter.com/NintendoAmerica Over on X (Twitter), Nintendo has announced that  another game is coming to Nintendo Switch Online. This includes 1 GBA game. The GBA game included in this update is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. The GBA app does require the expansion pass tier so if you have it you can enjoy this game. This game will be available from August 9th. For more information on the game click this link: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team I haven't played Red Rescue Team, but I have played Blue Rescue Team and loved it. They are essentially the same game just Blue Rescue Team was on the DS. Both aren't coming together as we sadly don't have a DS app. I hope people who have the expansion take the time to try this, as the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, while a bit repetitive in gameplay, bring a lot more interesting narratives than mainline Pokemon games.   That's it f...

Fully Charged: Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, Shantae and the Seven Sirens, Mario Kart World

Start of a new series! Fully Charged is a series in which I go over games I have recently played. Each instalment will release when I have played 2-4 games, updates or demos. With less time for this blog now, I won't be doing many, if any, full reviews. This series will instead cover the games I have played critically, in a mini-review format. Mario Kart World https://store.nintendo.co.uk This is the game everyone has been playing recently if they got a Switch 2. I want to start off by saying I quite like this game, it feels quite different from 8 in a good way. One of the biggest things I like about the games feel, is the control. Vehicles in this game do not feel as stiff. How could I not mention the wall driving and rail grinding too, those add a lot more depth to tracks and are very fun to do. The new knockout tour is a great addition to the series, I find myself playing these just as much as grand prix's. Free roam is quite fun, there are some cool challenges to do within ...
