[News] Latest Splatfest Announced!

Nintendo have just announced the latest Splatfest!  source:  twitter.com/NintendoUK Over on twitter, Nintendo has just posted the details of the next splatfest for Splatoon 3. This time it is about which instrument you would play. The three options being, Drums (Shiver), Guitar (Frye) or Piano (Big man). The Splatfest will be available from  Saturday the 23rd of March @ 12 am until Sunday the 24th of March @ 11:59 pm . The Japanese Splatfest is different again this time, with it being an actual collab between a crisp company and Splatoon in Japan. The three options for Japan seem to be different flavours of said crisps. This is an interesting theme for Splatfest. I really don't think there will be a favourite here since it's all completely subjective. People may judge what they would play on by what they actually do play, what they wish they could play or what type of music they like most. I honestly can't say which I think will receive the most votes here. All I know is I

[Thoughts] Pokemon Presents 27/2/24

A short and concise show, with a couple cool things source:  www.youtube.com/@pokemon This Pokémon presents was quite short, being around 12 minutes, with not much stuff shown. However, it didn't overstay it's welcome, unlike some previous ones, and there was also a big announcement at the end of it.    As for what was shown in the presentation, here is the full list: - Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Tera Raids - Pokémon Go x Pokemon Horizons - Pokemon Sleep Update - Pokémon Masters update - Pokémon Café remix update - Pokemon Unite Update - Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket - Pokémon Legends Z-A As usual these directs are populated with loads of updates for ongoing games. Though, the two new things we got were cool. The mobile app for TCG seems like it could be a good modern way to play the TCG. People love opening packs of Pokémon cards up so it will be no different for a mobile game that lets you do the same. You do get two free card packs everyday as they said so that will b

[Review] Splatoon 3: Side Order (DLC Expansion)

Splatoon becomes a Roguelike! source:  store.nintendo.co.uk/en Splatoon 3 received two waves of DLC in it's expansion pass. The first wave contained the Splatoon 1 plaza as a hub world option and that released on February 28th 2023. While the second wave contained a new story expansion called Side Order , which released February 22nd 2024. Today I will be reviewing the Side Order part as I feel that is really what the DLC pack is for. Side order is a new single player mode. As stated by the title, it is a roguelike experience, where players must face a series of challenges without loosing. How well does this work for Splatoon? Well, I can give you my thoughts on how I feel about it now as I have fully completed the DLC. ~ Positives ~ Clean Art Direction -  The game goes for a mostly monochrome look featuring many blacks and whites with splashes of colour for the main characters and the player's ink. The way they have pulled it off is very aesthetically pleasing, the player'

[News] A New Pokémon Presents Announced!

Time for some Pokémon news! source:  twitter.com/PokemonNewsUK Over on Twitter, Pokémon socials have just announced that a new Pokémon direct will be coming soon. This presentation will air @2:00pm GMT on February 27th . The run time for the show hasn't been stated.  Recently we had the final DLC for Scarlet and Violet, so we can expect a bunch of new things at this show. There have been Gen 5 rumours for a while so maybe it's finally time? Who knows. We can of course expect the usual mobile game reel for stuff like Pokémon Unite but that's about it for specifics. I would love to see a new Legends game personally and or a new Mystery Dungeon game. I suppose we will see what Pokémon have been cooking up soon. Make sure to tune in when it goes live. You will find the livestream  here . That's it for this blog, stay connected.

[News] Nintendo Partner Direct Airing February 21st!

Nintendo has just let us know a new direct will be dropping very soon! source:  twitter.com/NintendoAmerica Over on Twitter, Nintendo have just posted about a new Nintendo Direct. This direct will be a partner direct, full of games from Nintendo's partners. It will be airing  February 21st, @ 2pm GMT . Nintendo have stated that this direct will be 25 minutes long with a focus on titles coming in the first half of this year . You will be able to watch this direct, as always, on Nintendo's selection of official YouTube channels. With the direct being 25 minutes long we can expect a decent amount of games and updates being shown. I am not really sure at all what we will see to be honest. As a very likely guess, we will probably see a fair amount of ports as usual, maybe even one of those "impossible ports". There has also been some recent talk about Xbox games coming to other platforms, so this could be were we see one of those. Hi-fi rush would be a cool one to see. I d

[News] Februarys Splatfest Now On!

Pick your team and splat it out! Source: twitter.com/SplatoonNA Another Splatfest is upon us. This Splatfest, about which day is the best day of the weekend, was first announced on February 1st on Twitter. The choices for this Splatfest are, Friday (Shiver), Saturday (Frye) and Sunday (Big Man). As usual, this event runs for two full days (February 17th @ 00:00 - February 18th @ 23:59), with the tri colour battles starting on the second day. The tri-colour stage this time is Bluefin Depot. This is one of recent returning stages from Splatoon 1. The layout seems interesting, I do like how they took the usual spawn area and split it into two. This has made it so there is attackers and defenders starting right next to each other but behind a wall. This reminds me somewhat of one of the shifty stations in Splatoon 2 that did a similar thing, though you could actually see through a little bit of the wall. I feel this stage actually has a lot of potential. I suppose we will find out how fu

[News] Ys X: Nordics Coming Overseas This Year!

This is very exciting news for Ys fans source: twitter.com/NISAinEurope Over on Twitter, NISA Europe have just announced that Ys X will be coming West this year . Specifically, they have stated that we can expect to be playing this new instalment of the Ys series in Autumn . The exact release date though is unknown. A limited Edition will also be available, though the details of this are also  unknown. Pre-orders are not up yet and there is no word on when they will go up yet, but we can expect it sometime soon. A small announcement trailer has also launched on Youtube with some clips of the game. You can view that here . When I first saw this tweet I had to triple check I was reading the date right. The previous Ys game took 2 years for it to come west. This is more inline with Ys 8. I am personally so excited for this, 2024 didn't have too many games for me but this is a huge one for me and I am very grateful. The game looks absolutely amazing and I am sure it will live up to my

[News] Overview Trailer For Splatoon 3's Side Order Is Live!

Side Order keeps looking better! source:  www.youtube.com/@NintendoAmerica Over on YouTube, Nintendo have uploaded a video, which you can view here , giving us pretty much all we need to know about this DLC expansion. It goes into the structure of the DLC and the basics of how the DLC will play out.  The DLC will take place at the Spire of Order and your aim is to reach the top, without failing. Should you fail you get sent straight back to the beginning in classic rogue-like fashion. Each floor will have three challenges the player can choose from ranging in difficulty and rewards. It's important to choose what you think will help you the most through this gauntlet. There seems to be many different types of floors the player can face each having different objectives. One of challenges being reminiscent of the 8-ball challenges from the octo expansion. Through this experience you are not alone though, you will have a companion in the form of Pearl... well a drone version of her at

[News] Fresh Season 2024 Is Inkoming!

The Latest Splatoon 3 season is coming soon source:  twitter.com/NintendoUK Nintendo  has just  uploaded  a new video, on YouTube, showcasing what's in store for the latest  seasonal  update. This season, that starts March 1st, seems to have some really interesting things included in it . Of course there is also the standard stuff they don't really show off in trailers anymore like table turf cards and a new catalogue but those are a given. Here is what we see from the trailer: - 1 Stage (Marlin Airport) - 2 New Main Weapons (Recycled Brella 24 MK 1 and Douser Dualies FF) - At Least 6 Additional Weapon Kits  - New Salmon Run Stage (Bonerattle Arena) - New Gear Pieces  - New Music (The music we hear in the trailer plus more?) - New Splatfest Item (Fizzbang) This update seems to be really cool so far. The new stages for both standard multiplayer and salmon run look good. I can't really tell what makes the new umbrella different but I may have missed it, though the new dua

[News] 2024's Splatoon Concert Now Available To Watch!

Splatastic concert! Source:  www.youtube.com/@NintendoUK Over on YouTube, Nintendo has just uploaded a video of the full 2024 live concert for Splatoon. The video is 40 minutes long and you can watch it  here .  There is a total of 10 tracks that were performed at the concert. Here is the list of tracks played:  - Vs music medley - Till Depth Do Us Part - Fins in the Air - Hide and Sleek - Smeared Canvas - Candy-Coated Rocks - Tentacle to the Metal - Big Betrayal - Daybreaker Anthem - Anarchy Rainbow This concert was really fun to watch. I am glad they featured some of the newer tracks that were put into the game over the past year, was great to see them live. The amount of involvement from Pearl and Marina was unexpected but very welcome. It does make sense for them to show up though with them being tied to the upcoming DLC. The new version of Anarchy Rainbow featuring Off The Hook was such a cool thing to see, I hope this is actually in the game somehow. One thing I have always loved

[News] 2024's The Legend Of Zelda Orchestra Concert Now Available To Watch!

Nintendo delivers an amazing concert for fans of Zelda Source:  www.youtube.com/@NintendoUK Over on YouTube, Nintendo has just uploaded a video of the full 2024 orchestra concert for The Legend Of Zelda. The video is 30 minutes long and you can watch it here .  There is a total of 9 tracks that the orchestra played for this event. Here is a list of the tracks played by the orchestra:  - Tears of the Kingdom: Main Theme (Reprise) - The Ballad of the Goddess - Zelda's Lullaby - Link's Awakening Medley 2024 - Breath of the Wild: Main Theme - Hyrule Castle - Breath of the Wild: 2017 Nintendo Switch Presentation Trailer - Ocarina of Time: Kakariko Village - The Legend of Zelda Main Theme I love Zelda music so this was so special for me. It felt like I was reliving moments from my life just listening to this. I don't think Nintendo have ever uploaded a full Zelda concert online and I am so happy they did this time. I hope they continue to do this going forward. The only thing tha

[Review] Resident Evil 4 Remake

The best Resident Evil  Remake source:  blog.playstation.com Resident Evil 4 Remake is exactly what it says on the tin, a remake of the 2005 classic game. RE 4 Remake arrived worldwide on March 24th 2023, though I played it much later in January of this year. Resident Evil 4 originally elevated the series into new ambitious heights, that set it quite apart from previous entries. I enjoyed the original a lot and so did many others, with it getting critical acclaim. So this remake had quite some shoes to fill. After Resident Evil 3 Capcom had lost a little trust in the fans, all of us hoped for it to get the same love and care the Resident Evil 2 remake did, but did it in my opinion? Well now I have completed the game not once, but several times, I can confidently give my thoughts on the game. ~ Positives ~ Let's start by talking about the positives. To start with, the game looks absolutely stunning. I am a huge fan of all the visual upgrades and changes. Many of the characters look

[News] Latest Splatfest Announced!

Nintendo have announced the latest Splafest  source:  twitter.com/NintendoUK Over on twitter, Nintendo has just posted the details of the next splatfest for Splatoon 3. This time it is about which is your favourite day of the weekend. The three options being, Friday (Shiver), Saturday (Frye) or Sunday (Big man). The Splatfest will be available from  Saturday the 17th of February @ 12 am until Sunday the 18th of February @ 11:59 pm . Something else to note is that the Japanese Splatfest is different. This is not the first time they have done this. For Japan it seems to be about three different types of popular treats. This is quite a weird theme for Splatfest. I think there is most likely going to be a favourite here, being Saturday. That's because it's in the middle and is the day you can actually relax without having to think about what's coming up the next day. So this would make the most sense for people to favour. I then think people would chose Sunday next as Friday is

[Thoughts] State Of Play 31/1/24

A better show than last time for sure! source:  www.youtube.com/@PlayStation This State of play was around 40 minutes long and showed off quite a few games. Most of these games being ones coming out this year or being updated this year. As for what was shown/revealed here is a list:   - Helldivers 2 - Stellar Blade - Sonic x Shadow Generations  - Zenless Zone Zero - Foamstars - Dave The Diver - V Rising  - Silent Hill: The Short Message - Silent Hill 2 Remake - Judas - Metro Awakening VR - Legendary Tales - Dragons Dogma 2 - Rise Of Ronin - Until Dawn PC - Death Stranding 2 On The Beach - New Unnamed Kojima Game For this show we knew two games we where going to see and one of them is one I have been excited for since it's announcement, that being, Stellar Blade. I didn't think we would see much gameplay and if we did I didn't think we would get a release date but we actually got to see lots and get a release date. It looks like a game I would really enjoy and I am so excite
