[Thoughts] State Of Play 31/1/24

A better show than last time for sure!

source: www.youtube.com/@PlayStation

This State of play was around 40 minutes long and showed off quite a few games. Most of these games being ones coming out this year or being updated this year. As for what was shown/revealed here is a list:

- Helldivers 2
- Stellar Blade
- Sonic x Shadow Generations
- Zenless Zone Zero
- Foamstars
- Dave The Diver
- V Rising
- Silent Hill: The Short Message
- Silent Hill 2 Remake
- Judas
- Metro Awakening VR
- Legendary Tales
- Dragons Dogma 2
- Rise Of Ronin
- Until Dawn PC
- Death Stranding 2 On The Beach
- New Unnamed Kojima Game

For this show we knew two games we where going to see and one of them is one I have been excited for since it's announcement, that being, Stellar Blade. I didn't think we would see much gameplay and if we did I didn't think we would get a release date but we actually got to see lots and get a release date. It looks like a game I would really enjoy and I am so excited for it. Pre orders are going up soon for it too so I will be getting on that. Sonic x Shadow Generations I actually saw people mentioning on Twitter, though I thought it was a joke. Sonic Generations is my second favourite sonic game and getting an enhanced version with more content is really cool. I do wonder how much content we will get for shadow, I hope it's a decent amount. I also hope that we can buy it as an add on or dlc at least on steam. Silent Hill 2 was finally shown, though it did look a little rough around the edges in terms of combat. I am still looking forward to the game for sure though. That wasn't it for Silent Hill, another Silent Hill experience, called Silent Hill: The Short Message, is releasing today. I will be playing this to see what it's about, it will most likely just be a small experience maybe about and hour long at most but it's free so that's fine. Dragons Dogma and Rise of Ronin were shown and I am sure fans are happy with seeing these. Death Standing 2 is happening for some reason and it took up the most time in the state of play. Don't know if there are many Death Stranding fans but I suppose it's nice for them. The state of play ended poorly with them just having Kojima come on and talk about a new project, not very exciting. Though right at the end there was the announcement of another state of play for FF7 rebirth coming February 6th, which I am sure FF fans are very happy about.

Overall, this state of play was much better, at least in terms of my interests. Though I would say it was also more solid overall, even disregarding my tastes. I would rank this showcase at a B. This is because, there were some games shown that people have wanted to see for a bit and a surprise or two. The only things that soured this are the ending and the amount of time they spent on Death Stranding, though it would have been nice to see some more first party stuff from Sony too.

That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[Thoughts] Will Tears of the Kingdom have DLC?

DLC for Tears of the kingdom could happen but I don't think it's likely Source: Author's edit I want to start off by saying I do not think this game needs DLC at all, though it would be welcome. Breath of the Wild had an expansion pass with 3 waves of content. Looking at the contents of that could give us an idea about what a Tears of the Kingdom expansion pass could look like. The first wave (Expansion pass purchase bonus) was available at the games launch and included the following: - 3 new treasure chests This was a very small wave featuring 3 chests of goodies. The biggest thing from this was a Nintendo Switch shirt link could wear. It was a nice little extra to start the game off with but definitely not the defining content of the pass. Moving on, The second wave (DLC pack 1) offered a lot more in terms of content, with it offering these following things: - Trail of the Sword - Master mode - Heroes path mode.  This wave offered many things to test the players skill...

[Thoughts] Post Game Content Is Awesome!

Post game content is something I greatly  appreciate in games ~Intro ~ Many games over the years have included post game content, it's a way to give more content to players who really enjoyed their time with the main game and were left wanting a little more. Sometimes it is in the form of a few bonus missions, while other times epilogue stories can happen. I will now give some examples of good post game content and discuss what makes them good. ~Dark  Chronicle~ The post game for this game is quite big. After the main story you follow the main character on another small adventure to a place called the Zelmite Mine. This mysterious mine is huge, forming the biggest dungeon in the game by quite a bit. This Dungeon even has multiple mini bosses, one of which being fairly important to the narrative. While the dungeon does require a little bit of grinding to be able to get through it, it isn't too bad and I never found myself having...
