I wasn't expecting too much going into the direct and I will say the direct about matched my expectations, if not exceed them slightly. The direct didn't really have anything too crazy in it but there were a few nice surprises.

The direct started off with a bang, as the side order dlc was my favourite moment from the direct. Splatoon fans have been waiting for this and it looks absolutely amazing. I don't even mind that the release date is next year, I am happy with them taking their time with it. The update to the Princess Peach game was quite a cool surprise. I didn't think I would be very interested in the game but it seems like it will be a good time with the amount of variety in gameplay it seems to offer. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes continues too look good, but it's a game I will wait on reviews for. The visuals of the game are simply just stunning though. The Mario Kart 8 final dlc wave looks very promising. Finally we get Diddy Kong, it's been too long. Alongside him, Daisy circuit is in the wave to, which is a fan favourite for it's stunning sunset. We'll have to wait and see what else will appear in terms of tracks. F-zero 99 is something people have memed about for a while, but actually seeing it be real was pretty funny. I will for sure be playing it and giving it a try, and I'm not even really an f-zero fan, but it's free so why not. I have to say though, it's a shame that the rumoured Donkey Kong game was just a Mario vs DK game. I am sure those games have their fans but I would have liked to see a new Donkey Kong Country, it's been a while since tropical freeze. A remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door ended off the direct. I don't really have too much interest in this myself but I know it's a loved game by many and I may give it a go.
I also wanted to mention the Nintendo Museum. It will be interesting to see exactly what will be there. Sadly, this museum is only going to be located in Japan. It would be nice if more Nintendo Museums showed up but it's very unlikely since a lot of the contents will be one of a kind objects and such. It's still a really cool idea though.
Overall, I would say it was a alright presentation, and would give it a C+. The stand out stuff for me boils down to a dlc (Splatoon 3) and a new remake (Paper Mario: TTYD), which really shows there wasn't much to this presentation. If it weren't for these things, even with the few cool updates to previously announced games, it would have been a very poor showing. With the addition of a few more stand out announcements/showings, the direct could have been decent or even good. Hopefully, after these two fairly average directs we have had recently, we get a really good one next time, preferably with more games that aren't from the Mario series since there has been so many of those recently.
That's it for this blog, stay connected!
