[Thoughts] Sony is starting to lose me and needs to up their game!

I haven't touched my PS5 much at all since 2021 source: twitter.com/PlayStationUK Sony has become much more predictable and bland as time has gone on with its game releases. While Nintendo puts out games in many different genres and for many audiences, Sony seems to really like a specific type of game, that being 3rd person action games. All the games represented in their banner as seen above all fall in to this category. During the PS2 era Sony had so much variety in it's first party line up and it would be amazing for them to go back to those days but it doesn't look like they will anytime soon. source:  www.playstation.com   I wasn't a PS4 owner, though I did play my sisters PS4 for certain games such as the RE 2 remake, so when I got my PS5 in 2021 I had a bunch of games I wanted to play. On top of this, at the time Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart was coming out, so I also had a big first party release on the horizon too. So, for me, the start of the PS5 felt like a

[News] Ys X: Nordics gets a release date.... in Japan

A release date has now been revealed for this game source: twitter.com/nihonfalcom Ys X: Nordics will be releasing on September 28th in Japan. As usual, it will be released on PS4, PS5 and Switch. As well as the standard edition, a limited edition will also be released for this game, the contents are unknown at this time though. I know some people will import the game as they really want to play it but I will be waiting for the English release. If we go by previous Ys titles, it usually takes a year or 2 for it to come west. This would most likely put the English release at a 2024-2025 release window. Some other smaller details have been revealed too regarding the sailing. Once an enemy ship has taken enough damage you can board it and initiate a battle with it's crewmen. There will also be merchant ships you can trade with and get items from. These are good ways of adding more things to do when getting from point a to point b.  With that said I can't wait for this game to co

[Review] The Legend Of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom

The Zelda team releases yet another masterpiece of a game Source: twitter.com/NintendoUK The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom came out on May 12th 2023. Since this time I have completed the main story and done many side quests. At the moment I am continuing to beat more shrines and side quests that I didn't do during the main story. I have gotten more than a taste for the game so I will go into all my thoughts now. This review will be broken down into four parts, with my overall thoughts at the end.    Gameplay Tears of the kingdoms gameplay is pure fun. The new mechanics are all very useful and allow for so much creativity. These mechanics make puzzles extremely complex and allow for players to come up with many solutions to the same puzzles. Combat is also made more interesting with these powers with you being able to recall back an enemies projectile or use ultrahand and pull out a certain part of an enemy to damage it. The fuse system gives players so many options in ter

[News] Latest Big Run event details!

The stage, dates and reward have now been announced for the upcoming Big run  source: twitter.com/NintendoUK The Nintendo social medias have now let Splatoon 3 players know when the next Big Run event will happen. As the image shows it will start on the 10th of June and run till the 12th of June (for the UK). Undertow Spillway has been selected as the stage this time round after Inkblot Art Academy was chosen last time. It will be interesting to see how this stage is adapted for salmon run. I can see it being a decent stage for it but time will tell. Inkblot was a lot of fun last time and I look forward to playing this stage for the event. The figure reward this time is of a bunch of lesser salmonids. This does confirm there will be no new boss salmonid this season but that was expected since it may be every two seasons that happens. That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[News] Tears Of The Kingdom hits a new record!

Tears Of The Kingdom has become the fastest selling game in the history of the Legend Of Zelda series Source: twitter.com/NintendoEurope Tears of the kingdom has been out for nearly a week now and Nintendo has broke some amazing news regarding it's sales. 10 million copies have been sold worldwide, in just the first three days of release. This is huge numbers and just shows how much hype there is around this game. Previously, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet broke a record by selling 10 million in three days too, which is a great milestone but the fanbase for that series is massive. Also it counted both titles together, of which some people bought the double packs or two copies separately to get both versions. Zelda being able to match that record is a big achievement.  As of March 2023 Breath of the wild has sold around 29 million units. At the speed Tears of the kingdom is selling I can definitely see it catching up to it in sales. Who knows, maybe it could even exceed it.  That's

[News] Volume 9 of Nintendo's ask the developer is now complete!

This ask the developer was focused on the upcoming Tears Of The Kingdom game Source: www.nintendo.co.uk All five parts are now available for your viewing pleasure. As usual, each part goes over many questions you may have about the game and gives you some insight into why certain decisions were made for this game. These ask the developer interviews always make for a great read and knowing the developers thoughts really sheds a different light on things. I will now briefly summarise each part of this volume. Part 1 is about the background of the game and the team behind it. As well as that, it also goes over the music of Tears of the Kingdom a little bit with mentions of in game audio enhancements compared to Breath of the Wild.  Part 2 goes over the changes that have been made to the gameplay and world of the game. Link's appearance is also highlighted here, with his arm being a key distinguisher from his look in the previous game.  Part 3 then goes on to talk about the different

[News] Nintendo Live gets more information!

More information has been announced, so lets go over all we know Source:  twitter.com/NintendoAmerica This event will be an in person event held in Seattle, Washington from the 1st of September till the 4th of September. Tickets will be free and registration starts May 31st. There is going to be a wide variety of activities and things available for attendees when they are in the center. let's go over what you can do there. Firstly, games will be made available to play, I assume many kiosks will be set up with a variety of recent releases and possibly some upcoming new games they want to show off. The site mentions playing with others so some kiosks may support 2 players or more as well. A live show is another thing that will be there. The website states you will see performances, competitions and more on this live show. We can safely assume there will be some type of Splatoon and maybe animal crossing concert held on this stage, due to previous events. The competitions it is refe

[News] The Legend of Zelda X Splatoon 3 collab is on now!

Don't miss this special Splatoon 3 collab event! Source: twitter.com/NintendoUK Nintendo decided to make a collab event for Zelda in Splatoon 3 to promote the newest game in the series, Tears of the Kingdom. It isn't a Tears of the Kingdom specific splatfest but it's intention is the same. The three teams are Power (red), Wisdom (blue) and courage (green) which represent the three pieces of the tri-force as well as Ganondorf, Zelda and Link. Splatoon 3 has had collab events before such as the one for Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, however, this one is the most interesting one yet. This fest will include a completely unique stage. This stage is a modification of Scourge Gorge which is a standard Splatoon 3 stage. Below you can see this modified stage.    source: twitter.com/SplatoonNA As you can see the stage is in the shape of a Tri-force which is such a cool design choice. Each team will be starting at one of the three corners of the map. The two attacking teams have slightly les

[Review] Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed (DLC Expansion)

Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed is a wonderful gift from Monolith Soft Source: xenoblade.fandom.com Future redeemed came out on April 26th 2023. In the time since I have fully completed the main story of the game. Currently, I am doing the post game content. So, I can confidently provide a full opinion on this DLC scenario now. This review will be broken down into four parts, with my overall thoughts at the end.    Gameplay Future Redeemed's battle system is quite similar to the main game. However, it adds it's own twist to it with the use of duo special moves. It is way more important now to launch enemies and get combos going than it was in the base game. These new moves feel very rewarding to land. Every character has a pairing with each other, giving different effects for their duo special, which really encourages experimentation. Other than this battle system change, the general gameplay and loop is very similar to the base game. Narrative The story for this DLC is
