I haven't touched my PS5 much at all since 2021

Sony has become much more predictable and bland as time has gone on with its game releases. While Nintendo puts out games in many different genres and for many audiences, Sony seems to really like a specific type of game, that being 3rd person action games. All the games represented in their banner as seen above all fall in to this category. During the PS2 era Sony had so much variety in it's first party line up and it would be amazing for them to go back to those days but it doesn't look like they will anytime soon.
I wasn't a PS4 owner, though I did play my sisters PS4 for certain games such as the RE 2 remake, so when I got my PS5 in 2021 I had a bunch of games I wanted to play. On top of this, at the time Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart was coming out, so I also had a big first party release on the horizon too. So, for me, the start of the PS5 felt like a brief return to the PS2 it was magical. Since then however, it hasn't really felt the same. I just really wish more games that interest more people including myself where in the pipeline for Sony.

There are many opportunities for Sony to expand and have more variety. For platformers they have the great IP that is astrobot, there was even a free Astrobot game that came with the PS5 which was a great time. It left many people including myself craving a full Astrobot experience. This never happened. As well as that though, there is the Jak series and Sly Cooper series which are both well loved platformers, sadly collecting dust. RPGs only have the representation of Final fantasy, which is a great IP don't get me wrong but there are many other Rpgs Sony could give us to improve the diversity of the library. Wild arms, legend of dragoon, Suikoden, the list goes on of what Sony could have on their system for Rpgs, yet none of these are appearing. One of the biggest things I think Sony needs is party games. Nintendo does so well with these, it's great to have something you can play with the whole family. Everybody's Tennis or Everybody's golf are great examples of party games they could have on PS5.
As well as these returning IP's Sony could always introduce new IP's for these genres but it seems they would rather play it safe with their releases. I just hope I can get more use out of my PS5 soon because it is a great system and it sucks I am not using it.
That's it for this blog, stay connected!
