[Thoughts] Will Tears of the Kingdom have DLC?

DLC for Tears of the kingdom could happen but I don't think it's likely

Source: Author's edit

I want to start off by saying I do not think this game needs DLC at all, though it would be welcome. Breath of the Wild had an expansion pass with 3 waves of content. Looking at the contents of that could give us an idea about what a Tears of the Kingdom expansion pass could look like. The first wave (Expansion pass purchase bonus) was available at the games launch and included the following:

- 3 new treasure chests

This was a very small wave featuring 3 chests of goodies. The biggest thing from this was a Nintendo Switch shirt link could wear. It was a nice little extra to start the game off with but definitely not the defining content of the pass. Moving on, The second wave (DLC pack 1) offered a lot more in terms of content, with it offering these following things:

- Trail of the Sword
- Master mode
- Heroes path mode.

This wave offered many things to test the players skills, trail of the sword was a great mode that made players only able to use what they where given in the challenge rooms. Master mode made the game quite a bit harder with tougher enemies and regenerating health. Heroes path was a cool addition letting you see where you had gone within a set amount of play time. This wave was much better but still wasn't the peak of the pass. The last wave (DLC pack 2) gave us the champions ballad, which supplied us with the following content:

- New original story
- A new dungeon
- Additional challenges

This gave us whole new story segments with extra shrines and a new dungeon at the end of it. On top of this there were also some extra side quests added in that brought in some great features such as being able to teleport your horse to you. This was the wave that made the expansion pass so good. Breath of the Wild didn't show too much of the champions before they perished, so this was a great way to let us see more of them and the state of hyrule before the fall.

I think Tears of the Kingdom could have a very similar expansion pass with a small purchase bonus starting it off, then having a similar wave 2 with them adding in master mode and potentially giving us some type of trial (Heroes path is already in the game), then ending off with a story expansion and a new dungeon. The new story stuff could take place in central hyrule's sky since that has a decent amount of space. The thing is though, Breath of the Wild's pass was announced before release and the first wave launched alongside the game. So if it was going to follow in Breath of the Wild's footsteps I feel like it would have already been announced by now. Like I said before I also don't think the game really needs an expansion at all. So I personally think we won't be getting DLC for Tears of the Kingdom. If we don't hear anything about DLC before August time I think it is definitely not coming, as DLC pack 1 for Breath of the Wild came out a few months after the release and I don't think they would wait longer than that.

That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[Thoughts] Post Game Content Is Awesome!

Post game content is something I greatly  appreciate in games ~Intro ~ Many games over the years have included post game content, it's a way to give more content to players who really enjoyed their time with the main game and were left wanting a little more. Sometimes it is in the form of a few bonus missions, while other times epilogue stories can happen. I will now give some examples of good post game content and discuss what makes them good. ~Dark  Chronicle~ The post game for this game is quite big. After the main story you follow the main character on another small adventure to a place called the Zelmite Mine. This mysterious mine is huge, forming the biggest dungeon in the game by quite a bit. This Dungeon even has multiple mini bosses, one of which being fairly important to the narrative. While the dungeon does require a little bit of grinding to be able to get through it, it isn't too bad and I never found myself having...
