[Thoughts] Pokemon Presents 27/2/24

A short and concise show, with a couple cool things

source: www.youtube.com/@pokemon

This Pokémon presents was quite short, being around 12 minutes, with not much stuff shown. However, it didn't overstay it's welcome, unlike some previous ones, and there was also a big announcement at the end of it.

As for what was shown in the presentation, here is the full list:

- Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Tera Raids

- Pokémon Go x Pokemon Horizons

- Pokemon Sleep Update

- Pokémon Masters update

- Pokémon Café remix update

- Pokemon Unite Update

- Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket

- Pokémon Legends Z-A

As usual these directs are populated with loads of updates for ongoing games. Though, the two new things we got were cool. The mobile app for TCG seems like it could be a good modern way to play the TCG. People love opening packs of Pokémon cards up so it will be no different for a mobile game that lets you do the same. You do get two free card packs everyday as they said so that will be a nice thing to do daily. As for the new legends game, we all expected it to be Unova. I am actually very happy with what it is, x and y had so much potential and I feel like this game will finally realise it. People have hoped for a Pokémon Z and this is kind of that. Legends gameplay is the most fun from the series in my opinion so I am sure I will like it a lot, though I do hope they address some of the issues such as level design in this new one. It will be coming out in 2025 which is a good sign that this might actually have some polish to it as well.

The only other things I hoped to see in this direct really was a new mystery dungeon game or a new Pokémon stadium style game. It's been 9 years now since we got a completely original mystery dungeon game, which is a bit sad. I might just let go of a new Pokémon stadium game happening because I just don't think it's what Pokémon want to do. Besides, they do have many projects nowadays.

Overall, I would say the show was decent, if I were to rate it I would give it a 7/10. I am glad the presentation wasn't as long as the previous and this one got straight to the point really. With another new game announcement or 2 this could have been a very good presentation. Still fine with what we got though especially the new legends game.

That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[Thoughts] Will Tears of the Kingdom have DLC?

DLC for Tears of the kingdom could happen but I don't think it's likely Source: Author's edit I want to start off by saying I do not think this game needs DLC at all, though it would be welcome. Breath of the Wild had an expansion pass with 3 waves of content. Looking at the contents of that could give us an idea about what a Tears of the Kingdom expansion pass could look like. The first wave (Expansion pass purchase bonus) was available at the games launch and included the following: - 3 new treasure chests This was a very small wave featuring 3 chests of goodies. The biggest thing from this was a Nintendo Switch shirt link could wear. It was a nice little extra to start the game off with but definitely not the defining content of the pass. Moving on, The second wave (DLC pack 1) offered a lot more in terms of content, with it offering these following things: - Trail of the Sword - Master mode - Heroes path mode.  This wave offered many things to test the players skill...

[Thoughts] Nintendo Direct 14/09/23

A generally bland direct with a few bursts of flavour source:  www.youtube.com/@NintendoUK This direct provided updates for many upcoming games, while also giving us more information about games that are coming early next year. Other news, not about games, was present too. [Thoughts] Post Game Content Is Awesome!

Post game content is something I greatly  appreciate in games ~Intro ~ Many games over the years have included post game content, it's a way to give more content to players who really enjoyed their time with the main game and were left wanting a little more. Sometimes it is in the form of a few bonus missions, while other times epilogue stories can happen. I will now give some examples of good post game content and discuss what makes them good. ~Dark  Chronicle~ The post game for this game is quite big. After the main story you follow the main character on another small adventure to a place called the Zelmite Mine. This mysterious mine is huge, forming the biggest dungeon in the game by quite a bit. This Dungeon even has multiple mini bosses, one of which being fairly important to the narrative. While the dungeon does require a little bit of grinding to be able to get through it, it isn't too bad and I never found myself having...
