[Thoughts] My Hopes For The Final Wave In The Booster Course Pass

There is now only one more wave to go and there are still quite a few things I would like to see

source: mariokart.fandom.com

The previous wave, wave 5, launched just last month with two new cups and three characters. It was a fine wave but this final wave needs to be better so the DLC can end with a bang. There are several characters and tracks I would still like to see in this game. We know that we will get 8 tracks as usual and this time it will be two characters that will be added. So, with that said, let's get on to what I am hoping for.

~ Tracks ~

To start with, I will talk about some of the tracks I would like. The track I want the absolute most is Airship Fortress from Mario Kart DS. This track is so cool from the music to the visuals to the actual track layout, it was a full package. The track itself is very memorable, from it's bullet bill dodging at the start to the spiralling slope at the end. This track has a good chance of getting in with it having a tour version and being one of the remaining stand out tracks from DS.

Another track I would like to see for sure is Toads Factory. This track was very chaotic for it's moving parts and conveyer belts, it made for a lot of fun. I do think this one has less of a chance though, as I don't think they will include it over some of the other remaining Wii tracks like Rainbow Road. As well as this, it doesn't have a tour version they can use as a base.

The last track I would like to see is N64 Bowsers Castle. The atmosphere of this track was unparalleled. It was also quite a tricky track with many obstacles in the way, making for a good cup closer. This one also doesn't have a tour version though, while Frappe Snow land does, making that a bit more likely. This is especially the case, as this wave may release near Christmas and Frappe Snow Land perfectly fits that season.

~ Racers ~

As for racers, the first one I really want to see is Diddy Kong. I am still really surprised he wasn't in the base game of Mario Kart 8. Then I was even more surprised he wasn't added in the initial DLC or in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. So for him to then miss out on the DLC for deluxe I feel would be a big shame. I feel Nintendo has to put in Diddy or at least Funky Kong into this next wave for sure.

The other racer I would like to see is R.O.B. This robot buddy was in Mario Kart DS as an unlockable character. It was cool to be able to play as R.O.B and with them being in smash many people are aware of them. I think they would make a good addition to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe but probably had more chance in the earlier slots.

~ Closing thoughts ~

The DLC has been pretty good so far and I hope they are able to end it off well. I would be happy with even just one of these things I have mentioned making it into the game. I look forward to finding out what this last wave has in store for us.

That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[News] New "Hype trailer" for Summer Game Fest goes live

Summer Game Fest gets new video source : twitter.com/summergamefest Summer Game Fest hosted by Geoff Keighley will be live this Thursday, June 8th as announced a few days ago. The event will be streamed everywhere @  3pm ET / Noon PT / 9pm CEST.  Currently, other than a showing for the recently revealed Mortal Kombat remake, there are no details as to what to expect from the show. However, in a follow up tweet to the video post, Geoff states we will find out soon. In that same reply he also says what you see in the video is not indicative of what we will or won't see. So it serves as just a little mind refresher for some of the new games this year. Link to the video can be found here  SGF video I will be watching this event, but I will have my expectations set very low. Previous summer game fests have not been that interesting so I expect this one to follow suit. Though, with E3 not being a thing anymore offici...

[News] Another game comes to Nintendo Switch Online!

Another game is now available for Nintendo Switch Online members   source:  twitter.com/NintendoAmerica Over on X (Twitter), Nintendo has announced that  another game is coming to Nintendo Switch Online. This includes 1 GBA game. The GBA game included in this update is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. The GBA app does require the expansion pass tier so if you have it you can enjoy this game. This game will be available from August 9th. For more information on the game click this link: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team I haven't played Red Rescue Team, but I have played Blue Rescue Team and loved it. They are essentially the same game just Blue Rescue Team was on the DS. Both aren't coming together as we sadly don't have a DS app. I hope people who have the expansion take the time to try this, as the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, while a bit repetitive in gameplay, bring a lot more interesting narratives than mainline Pokemon games.   That's it f...

Fully Charged: Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, Shantae and the Seven Sirens, Mario Kart World

Start of a new series! Fully Charged is a series in which I go over games I have recently played. Each instalment will release when I have played 2-4 games, updates or demos. With less time for this blog now, I won't be doing many, if any, full reviews. This series will instead cover the games I have played critically, in a mini-review format. Mario Kart World https://store.nintendo.co.uk This is the game everyone has been playing recently if they got a Switch 2. I want to start off by saying I quite like this game, it feels quite different from 8 in a good way. One of the biggest things I like about the games feel, is the control. Vehicles in this game do not feel as stiff. How could I not mention the wall driving and rail grinding too, those add a lot more depth to tracks and are very fun to do. The new knockout tour is a great addition to the series, I find myself playing these just as much as grand prix's. Free roam is quite fun, there are some cool challenges to do within ...
