Updates and events galore, but nothing new to be seen

This Pokémon presents really did not deliver. It did include a lot of things in it, but it was quantity over quality for sure. With this being the longest presents yet I hoped for something more but I was left quite disappointed.
As for what was shown in the presentation, here is the full list:
- Pokémon worlds celebration events
- Pokémon Path To The Peak
- Detective Pikachu Returns
- Pokémon Horizons
- Pokémon Go events
- Pokémon Unite update
- Pokémon Masters update
- Pokémon Café remix update
- Pokémon Trading Card Game for Switch Online
- Pokémon Stadium 2 for Switch Online Expansion Pass
- Pokémon Sleep event
- Pokémon: Paldean Winds
- Pokémon Scarlet/Violet Mewtwo event
- Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC
As you can see events/updates cover a lot of what we saw, with the only "new" information being for things we previously knew about. I will say, it was nice that Pokémon Stadium 2 and the Trading Card were made available available, through the online apps, for people to play directly after the presentation. The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC did get a bunch of new info too, including some new Pokémon, forms and evolutions. I particularly like the new Applin form which is based on a candied apple. That said, I'm still not really that interested in this DLC, I may get it at some point but I'm not sure at the moment. For those interested, the first wave of the DLC will be arriving September 13th. Detective Pikachu got a release date, being October 6th, with pre orders being available now. I don't personally watch anime, but I am sure the people that do may appreciate the new anime content they are getting from this as there is quite a bit of it. The updates for the other games are pretty minor things and could have been shown in a sizzle reel to be honest.
The two main things I wished to see in this presents were a new legends game and/or a new mystery dungeon game. I thought there was a decent chance especially for a new mystery dungeon game but I guess detective Pikachu is taking the slot of a spin off game for the time being. The legends game was more of dream but with the rumours I thought it could of had a chance. I think if they are going to do a legends game, whether that be for gen 5 or not, it will be on the next console now. As it is, we have nothing to look forward to in terms of Pokémon games for 2024. I don't think we will get anything announced in the September direct either, so we may be waiting until next year for new announcements.
Overall, I would say the show was mediocre, if I were to rate it I would give it a 5/10. Being generous, the presentation felt like it had 10 minutes of worthy content with the rest being filler. Pokémon have given us a good idea of what we can expect for the rest of the year for sure, but other than that who knows what's next.
That's it for this blog, stay connected!
