[News] Ys X: Nordics looks very fluid!

Japanese livestream shows off 8 minutes of new Ys X footage

The livestream showcase for this game was split into four sections starting off with a little story segment. The first thing we see could be the intro sequence of the game. We can see Adol and Dogi, in their new designs, talking to people on a ship. As per Ys tradition Adol could be starting on a ship. However, since in this game we know you can ride around on a ship, perhaps this time there isn't a crash and Adol actually gets to land safely. This part ends off with us being shown art of the two main characters for the game. One being Adol as usual, while the other being a new character who is a female. We have previously seen this new character before though so this isn't a new reveal or anything.

We then get some actual gameplay, this gameplay potion focuses on showing the new traversal abilities. Ys 9 had traversal abilities which were very fun and this seems to build on that even further. The first one we see is a hoverboard type thing that lets you ride rails and dash through enemies dealing damage to them. The movement for Ys games has always been so good but this looks to be on another level. The next ability we see is, what I would describe as, a grappling wire. In the footage you can see Adol pull a crate towards him with it, allowing him to use it as a platform to get higher up. The grappling wire also has combat use, you can zip towards your enemies with it as seen in the gameplay footage. You could also do this with one of the abilities in Ys 9 too. At the end of this segment we can actually see another use for the hover board, with it allowing the player to hover over water as well.

This next segment shows more gameplay, this time showing Adol sailing his ship. The ship sailing is very similar to The legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass from the looks of it. Though, in the footage, the ship follows a linear path but I assume it also allows free sailing. This could just be an automated option. While sailing you are offered multiple views with an up close view of Adol sailing the ship as well as a far out view to see the surroundings better.

Lastly, we get to see a boss fight. Here we get to see a glimpse at how bosses will be for the game. During this fight a special move is executed involving both characters moving in sync, it is unknown what this is but it looks cool. The animation on the boss and characters looks great in general. This is a short clip so there isn't anything else to really say about it.

Ys X is continuing to look very good and I can't wait to hear about a release date for the west, as currently, there is only one for Japan (This year). I eagerly await to hear more about the English version.

That's it for this blog, stay connected!

Fully Charged: Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, Shantae and the Seven Sirens, Mario Kart World

Start of a new series! Fully Charged is a series in which I go over games I have recently played. Each instalment will release when I have played 2-4 games, updates or demos. With less time for this blog now, I won't be doing many, if any, full reviews. This series will instead cover the games I have played critically, in a mini-review format. Mario Kart World https://store.nintendo.co.uk This is the game everyone has been playing recently if they got a Switch 2. I want to start off by saying I quite like this game, it feels quite different from 8 in a good way. One of the biggest things I like about the games feel, is the control. Vehicles in this game do not feel as stiff. How could I not mention the wall driving and rail grinding too, those add a lot more depth to tracks and are very fun to do. The new knockout tour is a great addition to the series, I find myself playing these just as much as grand prix's. Free roam is quite fun, there are some cool challenges to do within ...

[Thoughts] Will Tears of the Kingdom have DLC?

DLC for Tears of the kingdom could happen but I don't think it's likely Source: Author's edit I want to start off by saying I do not think this game needs DLC at all, though it would be welcome. Breath of the Wild had an expansion pass with 3 waves of content. Looking at the contents of that could give us an idea about what a Tears of the Kingdom expansion pass could look like. The first wave (Expansion pass purchase bonus) was available at the games launch and included the following: - 3 new treasure chests This was a very small wave featuring 3 chests of goodies. The biggest thing from this was a Nintendo Switch shirt link could wear. It was a nice little extra to start the game off with but definitely not the defining content of the pass. Moving on, The second wave (DLC pack 1) offered a lot more in terms of content, with it offering these following things: - Trail of the Sword - Master mode - Heroes path mode.  This wave offered many things to test the players skill...
