[Thoughts] Amiibos are unstoppable!

Ten years later, new Amiibos are still appearing on store shelves

Recently, we had the announcement of the duo pack for the Pyra and Mythra amiibos. These are part of the smash bros series of amiibo. On top of this, we also had confirmation of Noah and Mio amiibos representing Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

It's no surprise amiibos continue to be released and purchased by many when they are such good figures. I will go into the main reasons why I think amiibo are still around and doing well today.

Cost

Amiibos are some of the cheapest gaming figures you can get. Most figures retail at £12.99 with duo packs and special figures being a bit more. While other gaming figures may warrant the higher price due to some extra pieces they come with, amiibos are far superior in terms of price and it's not even really close. Nendoroid for example, you can change out the weapons and facial expressions, but how many times are you actually going to do this. Figures like these are meant to be left on display and while it may be cool to show off a different pose the novelty of it will wear off pretty fast.

Quality

Amiibos are shockingly good in terms of quality considering the price point. The amount of detail put onto most of the figures is really nice. Sometimes when I have gotten an amiibo I felt like it looked even better than on the image. While amiibos may not have been the greatest quality in the early days, over the years there has been a clear improvement in quality and I think now we are at the peak of quality for amiibos. For a figure, looks matter a lot and amiibos looking as clean as they do definitely justifies why they continue to fly off shelves.

Functionality

Source: twitter.com/NintendoUK

This is another big point as to why amiibos are so good. Every amiibo has some sort of functionality. Some games may even have special functions for specific amiibo(s). Take Breath of The Wild for example, scanning a Mario series amiibo will net you some food and a chest which is a nice little bonus. However, scanning a Zelda series amiibo will net you special outfit pieces you can wear and/or a special weapon you can use in the game. The only other figures like this are the toys to life figures such as Skylanders but those figures only worked on Skylanders games whereas amiibos are much more flexible, allowing for use with many games. Games are still coming out today with amiibo support and even special amiibo support.

To close out, I will mention one thing that can be annoying about amiibos that people should know, that being, they are very hard to get sometimes. Amiibos are a scalper target and always have been sadly. So, if you are really wanting a specific amiibo you may have to drop more money on it than expected as resellers sell them for very high amounts. Though, to counter this, amiibos are restocked fairly frequently (this is dependent on country) so it's more a matter of patience.

When amiibos come to an end it will be a sad day but for now I cannot see the end in sight. I hope many more awesome amiibo figures come out for many different franchises in the future.

That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[Thoughts] Will Tears of the Kingdom have DLC?

DLC for Tears of the kingdom could happen but I don't think it's likely Source: Author's edit I want to start off by saying I do not think this game needs DLC at all, though it would be welcome. Breath of the Wild had an expansion pass with 3 waves of content. Looking at the contents of that could give us an idea about what a Tears of the Kingdom expansion pass could look like. The first wave (Expansion pass purchase bonus) was available at the games launch and included the following: - 3 new treasure chests This was a very small wave featuring 3 chests of goodies. The biggest thing from this was a Nintendo Switch shirt link could wear. It was a nice little extra to start the game off with but definitely not the defining content of the pass. Moving on, The second wave (DLC pack 1) offered a lot more in terms of content, with it offering these following things: - Trail of the Sword - Master mode - Heroes path mode.  This wave offered many things to test the players skill...

[Thoughts] Post Game Content Is Awesome!

Post game content is something I greatly  appreciate in games ~Intro ~ Many games over the years have included post game content, it's a way to give more content to players who really enjoyed their time with the main game and were left wanting a little more. Sometimes it is in the form of a few bonus missions, while other times epilogue stories can happen. I will now give some examples of good post game content and discuss what makes them good. ~Dark  Chronicle~ The post game for this game is quite big. After the main story you follow the main character on another small adventure to a place called the Zelmite Mine. This mysterious mine is huge, forming the biggest dungeon in the game by quite a bit. This Dungeon even has multiple mini bosses, one of which being fairly important to the narrative. While the dungeon does require a little bit of grinding to be able to get through it, it isn't too bad and I never found myself having...
