The latest Sonic Central delivers the expected but didn't have any surprises

This latest Sonic Central gave us a lot of what was expected, it does makes sense though, with the amount of Sonic content we have and will get this year. Sonic already has Sonic Origins Plus and Sonic Superstars as well as DLC for Frontiers for 2023. The show was a total of 20 minutes which is double what the previous one was and had quite a lot to it. As for what was in the showcase here is a full list:

- Super Silver in Sonic Dash and Sonic Forces (Mobile)

- Several new pieces of Sonic merchandise

What's listed above may seem like a lot, but all of it is just updates for things we previously knew about. The second update for Sonic Frontiers was the main standout of this show. While it was expected, it exceeded expectations for sure, it seems to be a worthy update with quite a few fun additions. The things included in this update are a new game plus, new challenges, a new outfit and new moves. One of the new moves is the spin dash which is something fans have wanted in the game since release. The new merchandise looked good too, with there being a nice variety of merch shown. The shirts are the best amongst the merch shown, due to the cool designs on them. Other than this though, it was a bit boring and I don't really have anything else to say about what was shown.

I personally think that, it would have been cool if we had some type of surprise game announcement for maybe next year to look forward too but again I do get why there wasn't any new game announced. A demo for Sonic Superstars is something I wished for and would have been a nice surprise, sadly this did not happen. Seeing the third wave of Sonic Frontiers would have also been a big surprise as we were only expecting to see the second wave, but again, didn't happen.

Overall, I would say the show was okay. The shows content could have been better, thought the presentation itself flowed fairly well, which definitely helped the show. That said, I look forward to what Sonic has coming up this year with Sonic Superstars and the Big final update for Frontiers.

[News] New "Hype trailer" for Summer Game Fest goes live

The event will be streamed everywhere @ 3pm ET / Noon PT / 9pm CEST. Currently, other than a showing for the recently revealed Mortal Kombat remake, there are no details as to what to expect from the show. However, in a follow up tweet to the video post, Geoff states we will find out soon. In that same reply he also says what you see in the video is not indicative of what we will or won't see. [News] Another game comes to Nintendo Switch Online!

Another game is now available for Nintendo Switch Online members source: twitter.com/NintendoAmerica Over on X (Twitter), Nintendo has announced that another game is coming to Nintendo Switch Online. This includes 1 GBA game. The GBA game included in this update is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. The GBA app does require the expansion pass tier so if you have it you can enjoy this game. This game will be available from August 9th. They are essentially the same game just Blue Rescue Team was on the DS. Both aren't coming together as we sadly don't have a DS app. I hope people who have the expansion take the time to try this, as the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, while a bit repetitive in gameplay, bring a lot more interesting narratives than mainline Pokemon games. [News] Grand Festival Announced! (Splatoon 3)

Nintendo has just announced the last? Splatfest! source: x.com/NintendoAUNZ Over on X (Twitter), Nintendo has just posted the details of the last? Splatfest for Splatoon 3. It is a very special Splatfest with it being called the "Grand festival". For this, it seems all three idol groups are against each other taking one option each. The question being asked for this is "Which is the most important to you?". The three options are past (Squid Sisters), present (Off the Hook), or future (Deep Cut). The Splatfest will be available for 72 hours rather than the usual 48. It will start Friday the 13th of September @ 01:00 am until Monday the 16th of September @ 00:59 am . We don't know much about the fest itself but it's safe to assume it will have all the same things as a special Splatfest and more.
