[Thoughts] The Nintendo Switch Online App Should Have Direct Messages

There have been many times that I wished this was a feature of the app

source: www.nintendo.com

At the moment the Nintendo Switch Online app really needs an upgrade. Nintendo want you to use this to communicate with friends you make on switch, but they made it very hard to do so. The only form of chat you can do is a voice chat, which is something not everyone is comfortable with. This is especially the case when it's the first real interaction you will have with the other person. What's even worse is the voice chat thing is limited to specific games. Reports have also been made on how bad the chat is with it constantly dropping in and out. This makes this only way of communication pretty useless.

If the Nintendo Switch Online app had some type of direct message system, something akin to discord, then this issue could be solved instantly. To make it safe, they could make it so image attachment options are not available. As well as this, the option to receive messages should be given in the settings. This is so that children can be safe. There could also be another setting in the parental controls too, to further safeguard children. The addition of direct messages would actually give people a big reason to use the app. While people would still just use discord over it in the long term, it allows it to act as a stepping stone to allow people to share their social medias and such.

I wanted to talk about this because I have met many people on my switch over the years and since there has been no way to communicate with them, a friendship just can't develop. People have gotten creative by writing their twitters in Splatoon private battles with ink, but it is quite hard to do this and is frankly ridiculous that we have to do it. I am really hoping with the next Nintendo system we get a new app or an update to this one that addresses this issue amongst others.

That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[Thoughts] Will Tears of the Kingdom have DLC?

DLC for Tears of the kingdom could happen but I don't think it's likely Source: Author's edit I want to start off by saying I do not think this game needs DLC at all, though it would be welcome. Breath of the Wild had an expansion pass with 3 waves of content. Looking at the contents of that could give us an idea about what a Tears of the Kingdom expansion pass could look like. The first wave (Expansion pass purchase bonus) was available at the games launch and included the following: - 3 new treasure chests This was a very small wave featuring 3 chests of goodies. The biggest thing from this was a Nintendo Switch shirt link could wear. It was a nice little extra to start the game off with but definitely not the defining content of the pass. Moving on, The second wave (DLC pack 1) offered a lot more in terms of content, with it offering these following things: - Trail of the Sword - Master mode - Heroes path mode.  This wave offered many things to test the players skill...

[Thoughts] Post Game Content Is Awesome!

Post game content is something I greatly  appreciate in games ~Intro ~ Many games over the years have included post game content, it's a way to give more content to players who really enjoyed their time with the main game and were left wanting a little more. Sometimes it is in the form of a few bonus missions, while other times epilogue stories can happen. I will now give some examples of good post game content and discuss what makes them good. ~Dark  Chronicle~ The post game for this game is quite big. After the main story you follow the main character on another small adventure to a place called the Zelmite Mine. This mysterious mine is huge, forming the biggest dungeon in the game by quite a bit. This Dungeon even has multiple mini bosses, one of which being fairly important to the narrative. While the dungeon does require a little bit of grinding to be able to get through it, it isn't too bad and I never found myself having...
