[Thoughts] The Nintendo Switch Online App Should Have Direct Messages

There have been many times that I wished this was a feature of the app

source: www.nintendo.com

At the moment the Nintendo Switch Online app really needs an upgrade. Nintendo want you to use this to communicate with friends you make on switch, but they made it very hard to do so. The only form of chat you can do is a voice chat, which is something not everyone is comfortable with. This is especially the case when it's the first real interaction you will have with the other person. What's even worse is the voice chat thing is limited to specific games. Reports have also been made on how bad the chat is with it constantly dropping in and out. This makes this only way of communication pretty useless.

If the Nintendo Switch Online app had some type of direct message system, something akin to discord, then this issue could be solved instantly. To make it safe, they could make it so image attachment options are not available. As well as this, the option to receive messages should be given in the settings. This is so that children can be safe. There could also be another setting in the parental controls too, to further safeguard children. The addition of direct messages would actually give people a big reason to use the app. While people would still just use discord over it in the long term, it allows it to act as a stepping stone to allow people to share their social medias and such.

I wanted to talk about this because I have met many people on my switch over the years and since there has been no way to communicate with them, a friendship just can't develop. People have gotten creative by writing their twitters in Splatoon private battles with ink, but it is quite hard to do this and is frankly ridiculous that we have to do it. I am really hoping with the next Nintendo system we get a new app or an update to this one that addresses this issue amongst others.

That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[Review] God of War (2018)

A near godly experience made slightly mortal by one glaring issue source:  www.playstation.com ~ Intro ~ God of War (2018) is a 3rd person action game made by Santa Monica Studio. The game is currently available on both PS4 and PC. This title is sort of a reboot of the series with it taking a different direction from the traditional hack and slash formula of the original God of War games. I haven't played any of the other God of War games so this has been my introduction into the series. I have wanted try this series for a while, as I have seen good things about it. So, starting with this reboot felt like a great entry point. With that said though, let's get into my thoughts. ~ Positives ~ let's go over the positives first. To start with, the story of the game is good. This game's story is all about fulfilling a last wish, though there are many road blocks the main characters must face along the way. As I was playing I found myself intrigued to find out what would happe

This game is a N64 game so it will be available on the N64 app. This does mean you will need the Switch Online Expansion Pack to play it. The update with this game will drop on the 27th of October.  Mario Party 3 is a great addition to the line up. The fact that it will have online co-op is a big change. Essentially though, Mario Party is about moving your character around a board with dice rolls, with the aim of collecting Stars. The player with the most stars at the end wins, it really is that simple. The most fun aspects to Mario Party games though are the mini games. Mario Party 3 offers a total of 71 mini games for players to enjoy. Something to note about this game as well, is that, it was the first Mario Party game to feature a story mode. Make sure you give this a try too it's a good way to practice th
