[Thoughts] Ports I Would Like To See On The Next Nintendo Console

My picks for future ports

With Nintendo's next console in the distance I would like to talk about some of my hopes for this console. In this article I will be discussing 3 (technically 4) ports I would like to see at some time during the next consoles lifetime. For me, these are my most wanted ports, but there are other ports that I would like to see too. Something to note is that these are in no particular order and I generally would like to see them equally.

~ Xenoblade Chronicles X ~

This port is one I thought we would see on the switch for sure. I am somewhat glad we didn't though because I feel like visually there wouldn't have been much difference. With more power we would be able to experience this game in a much better way. I would want this port to add in many of features the definitive edition of Xenoblade Chronicles did. One of my biggest problems with the game was the map screen, hopefully this gets addressed too. I have also never finished this game and a port on the next Nintendo console would relight my interest in doing so. This port could be the perfect set up for the sequel, if there is going to be one that is.

~ Twilight Princess/Wind Waker HD ~

Many people have been requesting this port for a long time. There are two things I want to say about this, firstly, I don't think they would release them together as a double pack and secondly, I am glad they also didn't release on base switch. This is for the same reason as Xenoblade Chronicles X, there would have been basically no difference in resolution and framerate. These two games are amazing though and I would love to see them ported on the next switch console. They already enhanced and added in lots of stuff from the base games so I don't think they would need to add or change much else. Though, I will say, the loss of the gamepad will be quite sad since equipping items with that was super easy and convenient.

~ Kid Icarus: Uprising ~

This game was originally for 3DS, so a port onto a home console would be great. It would be amazing to see the world of Kid Icarus in HD for the first time. Though the most vital thing about this port would be to fix the biggest issue with the game, the controls. I still have not played this game myself and that is entirely due to the controls. It's a shame this is such a barrier of entry because the world of Kid Icarus seems so lively and wonderful. Ever since maining Pit and Dark Pit in Smash Bros I have wanted to find out more about them but sadly I haven't been able to. Just like Xenoblade Chronicles X this port could set up a potential sequel and I would like to see that too as there are only two games including Uprising in the Kid Icarus series.

Closing Thoughts

Those are my top 3 (technically 4) most wanted ports for the next Nintendo console. I would be very happy in any one of these becomes a reality. No one can easily predict what Nintendo are going to do so we'll have to see what they have in store for us with this next system. A port of something is always a given though as they have become so common now.

That's it for this blog, stay connected!

[News] New "Hype trailer" for Summer Game Fest goes live

Summer Game Fest gets new video source : twitter.com/summergamefest Summer Game Fest hosted by Geoff Keighley will be live this Thursday, June 8th as announced a few days ago. The event will be streamed everywhere @  3pm ET / Noon PT / 9pm CEST.  Currently, other than a showing for the recently revealed Mortal Kombat remake, there are no details as to what to expect from the show. However, in a follow up tweet to the video post, Geoff states we will find out soon. In that same reply he also says what you see in the video is not indicative of what we will or won't see. So it serves as just a little mind refresher for some of the new games this year. Link to the video can be found here  SGF video I will be watching this event, but I will have my expectations set very low. Previous summer game fests have not been that interesting so I expect this one to follow suit. Though, with E3 not being a thing anymore offici...

[News] Another game comes to Nintendo Switch Online!

Another game is now available for Nintendo Switch Online members   source:  twitter.com/NintendoAmerica Over on X (Twitter), Nintendo has announced that  another game is coming to Nintendo Switch Online. This includes 1 GBA game. The GBA game included in this update is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. The GBA app does require the expansion pass tier so if you have it you can enjoy this game. This game will be available from August 9th. For more information on the game click this link: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team I haven't played Red Rescue Team, but I have played Blue Rescue Team and loved it. They are essentially the same game just Blue Rescue Team was on the DS. Both aren't coming together as we sadly don't have a DS app. I hope people who have the expansion take the time to try this, as the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, while a bit repetitive in gameplay, bring a lot more interesting narratives than mainline Pokemon games.   That's it f...

Fully Charged: Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, Shantae and the Seven Sirens, Mario Kart World

Start of a new series! Fully Charged is a series in which I go over games I have recently played. Each instalment will release when I have played 2-4 games, updates or demos. With less time for this blog now, I won't be doing many, if any, full reviews. This series will instead cover the games I have played critically, in a mini-review format. Mario Kart World https://store.nintendo.co.uk This is the game everyone has been playing recently if they got a Switch 2. I want to start off by saying I quite like this game, it feels quite different from 8 in a good way. One of the biggest things I like about the games feel, is the control. Vehicles in this game do not feel as stiff. How could I not mention the wall driving and rail grinding too, those add a lot more depth to tracks and are very fun to do. The new knockout tour is a great addition to the series, I find myself playing these just as much as grand prix's. Free roam is quite fun, there are some cool challenges to do within ...
