[Thoughts] The GameCube Had Some Interesting Versions - Coolest Consoles (Part 2)

Let's look at some Gamecube Special Edition consoles!

source: consolevariations.com

In this series of blogs, I will be covering my favourite versions of each console that I have owned. Now, I most likely don't have any of these myself due to the pricing for them, but I can still see them very well online through photos/videos. However, if I do have one of them, I will make a note of it. Each part of this series will contain a top five for that specific console, this is in order as well from least liked to most liked. Anyway, without further ado, let's start!

5. Nintendo Gamecube Starlight Gold Edition

source: consolevariations.com

This console is my fifth favourite. Funnily enough the gold N64 was my favouirte last time, however, i feel like there are quite a few other consoles for the gamecube that look better than this. The gold on this is also slightly different in tone and doesnt look as good as the gold for the N64. That said i do still like it and think it looks quite nice. Though there isnt anything else going on for it so thats why its ranked here.

4. Nintendo Gamecube Metal Gear Solid Edition

This console is my fourth favourite. I always like the silver consoles and i think this is another silver console i quite like. The overall design is a bit bland though and there isnt any logo or anything on the controller. The logo on the gamecube itself looks nice though, I actually quite like how they kept it silver rather than colouring it, as i feel it would stand out too much and metal gear solid is all about the stealth!

3. Nintendo Gamecube Gundam Edition

source: consolevariations.com

This console is my third favourite. The red on this console is the right tone for me personally, makes it stand out but not too much it's in your face. I don't know anything about Gundam but the simple yellow logo fits pretty well on the center piece and the controller. Not sure we really needed the small text as well though, but its not a major issue. I really do like how the port area is black though, many others dont have that section changed at all.

2. Nintendo Gamecube Tales of Symphonia Edition

source: consolevariations.com

This is my second favourite console design. I really like the colour of this console and while i am not a Tales series enjoyer i think the center piece looks pretty cool. Sometimes the center peices can be a bit noisy with thier design when including characters but I like how clear and big the character is on this. The blue on the controller looks nice too, though a logo or something could have been nice on it.

1. Nintendo Gamecube Hanshin Tigers Edition

source: consolevariations.com

This Gamecube is easily my favourite one. Alot of the themed gamecubes were just stickers on the center piece but this one features a full design. While I dont really know anything about the Hanshin Tigers I do like the logo they have. From a quick search it seems to be a Japanse baseball team which makes sense upon looking at the logo. The controller is nice too, the black controller is actually my favourite so a simple white logo on is fine with me. Overall, this gamecube is not anything crazy in terms of design but it's more interesting than the others before it and features a clean design with a cool center logo not much to complain about.

That's it for part 2 of this series, for part 3 stay connected!

[News] New "Hype trailer" for Summer Game Fest goes live

Summer Game Fest gets new video source : twitter.com/summergamefest Summer Game Fest hosted by Geoff Keighley will be live this Thursday, June 8th as announced a few days ago. The event will be streamed everywhere @  3pm ET / Noon PT / 9pm CEST.  Currently, other than a showing for the recently revealed Mortal Kombat remake, there are no details as to what to expect from the show. However, in a follow up tweet to the video post, Geoff states we will find out soon. In that same reply he also says what you see in the video is not indicative of what we will or won't see. So it serves as just a little mind refresher for some of the new games this year. Link to the video can be found here  SGF video I will be watching this event, but I will have my expectations set very low. Previous summer game fests have not been that interesting so I expect this one to follow suit. Though, with E3 not being a thing anymore offici...

[News] Another game comes to Nintendo Switch Online!

Another game is now available for Nintendo Switch Online members   source:  twitter.com/NintendoAmerica Over on X (Twitter), Nintendo has announced that  another game is coming to Nintendo Switch Online. This includes 1 GBA game. The GBA game included in this update is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. The GBA app does require the expansion pass tier so if you have it you can enjoy this game. This game will be available from August 9th. For more information on the game click this link: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team I haven't played Red Rescue Team, but I have played Blue Rescue Team and loved it. They are essentially the same game just Blue Rescue Team was on the DS. Both aren't coming together as we sadly don't have a DS app. I hope people who have the expansion take the time to try this, as the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, while a bit repetitive in gameplay, bring a lot more interesting narratives than mainline Pokemon games.   That's it f...

Fully Charged: Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, Shantae and the Seven Sirens, Mario Kart World

Start of a new series! Fully Charged is a series in which I go over games I have recently played. Each instalment will release when I have played 2-4 games, updates or demos. With less time for this blog now, I won't be doing many, if any, full reviews. This series will instead cover the games I have played critically, in a mini-review format. Mario Kart World https://store.nintendo.co.uk This is the game everyone has been playing recently if they got a Switch 2. I want to start off by saying I quite like this game, it feels quite different from 8 in a good way. One of the biggest things I like about the games feel, is the control. Vehicles in this game do not feel as stiff. How could I not mention the wall driving and rail grinding too, those add a lot more depth to tracks and are very fun to do. The new knockout tour is a great addition to the series, I find myself playing these just as much as grand prix's. Free roam is quite fun, there are some cool challenges to do within ...
