[Thoughts] Top 5 Games I Played In 2024

These games made my year better! In this blog, I will be going through the 5 games that were my favorites of the year. This isn't just exclusive to games that came out this year, but also inclusive of ones that I played for the first time this year, I find it to be more interesting that way. At the end will also be a mention of my favourite DLC of the year too. That said, let's begin! 5) Honkai: Star Rail I never really played Gacha games before this year other than Fire Emblem Heroes as I don't really like how they are done. However, the setting and designs of the characters quickly pulled me into this game after giving it a try due to a recommendation from a friend. Before I knew it I had sunk many hours into it. This did cause me to get burned out and actually made me stop playing for a few months. Nintendo's wrap up includes lots of information you need to know about your year in gaming with Nintendo Switch. You can see a full breakdown of what games you played and how many hours you invested. Nintendo also allows you to select your own favourite game of the year at the end, adding some interactivity to it.  This is a little later than last years year in review but its finally here. Just like the Playstation one, these things are just so cool to see. I played my Switch just as much as my Playstation this year. There has been great games come out on both consoles this year, its been quite a time to be a gamer. With the Switch 2 supposedly coming next year, maybe this'll be the last full year for Switch. I'm looking forward to what's to come in 2025 from Nintendo, 2024 was solid overall, 2025 could be even...

[News] Ys X: Proud Nordics announced!

Ys is getting the Persona treatment Image source:  x.com/Ys_Central Over on X (Twitter), Nihon Falcom have just announced that an upgraded version for Ys X: Nordics is coming next year. So far we only know of a JP release which is next year, hopefully, it comes out for other regions then as well. This upgrade features a new story, new areas and new elements to the gameplay. Here is a list of specific things we know so far: - Takes place on Aland Island  - Obtainable new mana action - There will be new bosses - Can take part in mana ride races - You can challenge an arena where fierce enemies await Source: www.falcom.co.jp/ysx/proud/ I really did not expect this to happen at all. I am quite excited for this and the screenshots look really good. One of the main issues of the original was the visuals so this will make the game even better. I can't wait to dive back into this adventure with Adol and explore this new Island. However, this has a chance to be a bit disappointing...

[News] Big Run 1 Rerun Now On! (Splatoon 3)

Big Run repeats are now starting! source :  twitter.com/NintendoUK The latest Big Run event is now upon us. This time the Salmonids have invaded Wahoo World again. This invasion will take place from today, the 14th of December @ 12am, till the 16th of December @ 12am . The reward this time is the trophy of Cohozuna, so you can pick it up if you missed it the first time. As usual there is a green trophy for participation with the chance to earn a bronze, silver or gold one too depending on your score. The amount you need to get gold is 135+, while silver is 110+ and bronze is 85+. As always, Big Run is a good way to earn scales to spend in the shop, as you will be receiving double the amount of scales during this event. So, make sure to try and take out as many bosses as you can. That's it for this blog, stay connected!

The best Game Awards ever!    source:  www.youtube.com/@PlayStation The Game Awards has offically taken place for this year, there were many reveals and showcases to go alongside the awards in the night. To see it for yourself you can watch the full thing here . However, here are some of the highlights of games and projects shown in the event:  - Okami Sequel - Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet - Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds - Mafia: The Old Country - The Last of Us Part II Remastered PC - Dying Light: The Beast - Game of Thrones: Kingsroad - Onimusha: Way of the Sword - Warframe: 1999 - Turok: Origins - Virtua Fighter - Borderlands 4 - The Outer Worlds 2 - Untitled Project by Fumito Ueda of GenDesign - Elden Ring: Nightreign - The Witcher 4 - Ninja Gaiden Ragebound This game awards really was impressive, prevouisly we would probably get 2 or 3 highlightable announcements at most but this one had a lot to offer. [News] PlayStation Wrap-Up Now Available

Check out your year in gaming with PlayStation! Source:  x.com/PlayStationUK Over on X (Twitter), PlayStation has just posted that we can now view our 2024 wrap-up. With this, you can view many things about your gaming year, such as total hours played, number of games played, and total trophies earned.  It's always cool to see something like this collated in a very easy-to-read way. I am not currently able to get on at the moment to view mine and I think many are having issues with the site as well but I am very curious to see my overall PlayStation stats for the year.
